Bernie's Worms and CrawlersBernie Reich grew up on a dairy farm in the tiny town of Couderay, WI population 96 as the only son, youngest of six.  Starting at about age 5 he milked cows 2x a day beginning at 4am no matter what the weather (30 below is normal in the winter).  By age 6 he had his own business selling worms and night crawlers and still has the first dollar he ever earned framed by his mother.  His first 3 years of school were in a one room school house in Couderay.  He graduated Winter High School 3rd in his class and was Homecoming King (although there were only 27 of them).  He came to Chicago land at 18 with $50 in his pocket and a $200 Chevy Impala. Bernie now owns a successful concrete contracting company BGR Construction, Inc. www.bgrconstruction.com .  He still believes in closing a deal with a handshake – as they say you can take the boy out of the country but not the country out of the boy.  Bernie and his wife Diane of 24 years and their two terrific children Bernie Jr. and Grace live a Northwest suburb of Chicago, IL.

Big Greedy Redneck BandIn 2005, Bernie decided that the he wanted to try writing a song after making a bet with a family friend.  His first Song is entitled Hometown, USA and is, of course, about his hometown, Couderay.  In 2007 Bernie decided to take up guitar and two years later The Big Greedy Redneck band was born.  Most of his songs are about growing up in a small town, his family and friends.  If you listen closely you’ll hear Bernie’s wife Diane on the tambourine.  We hope you enjoy listening to our music as much as we do playing it!

The Big Greedy Redneck Band:
Bernie Reich: singer, songwriter, acoustic guitar
Tom Henrichsen: electric guitar, acoustic guitar
Jack Watters: 5-string banjo
